Turmeric Milk Latte – Whole30, GAPS, Paleo
This delicious and creamy turmeric milk latte is comforting and also anti-inflammatory. Often referred to as “golden milk”, this beverage has been consumed for centuries. While cow milk is common and used traditionally, any milk can be used. Our family enjoys a turmeric milk latte with coconut cream, which is naturally sweet. Coconut has so many health benefits for the brain and body, and I love including it in recipes our whole family enjoys.

Turmeric Anti-Inflammatory Drink
This turmeric milk latte, made with coconut cream and turmeric, provides vitamins, minerals, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also delicious!
Health Benefits of Turmeric
Turmeric is a plant that has a very long history of medicinal use, dating back nearly 4000 years. Some of the health benefits and medicinal uses of turmeric include:

- Used for digestive disorders; to reduce flatus, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, and colic; for abdominal pain and distension and for dyspeptic conditions including loss of appetite, postprandial feelings of fullness, and liver and gallbladder complaints.
- Anti-inflammatory, choleretic, antimicrobial, and carminative actions.
- Used for treatment of diseases such as familial adenomatous polyposis; in the bowels, for treatment of inflammatory bowel disease; and in the colon, for treatment of colon cancer.
- In Ayurvedic practices, turmeric is thought to have many medicinal properties including strengthening the overall energy of the body, relieving gas, dispelling worms, improving digestion, regulating menstruation, dissolving gallstones, and relieving arthritis.
- In Pakistan, it is used as an anti-inflammatory agent, and as a remedy for gastrointestinal discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive disorders (source).
Turmeric Milk Latte “Golden Milk” Popsicles
We turn many of our favorite drinks, such as herbal tea, lemonade, and smoothies into popsicles. It adds variety, and our children ask for them nearly daily. Making popsicles at home is a really easy and inexpensive way to make treats and nourish our bodies. A few years back, our son had the idea to turn this turmeric milk latte into a popsicle, and we have been enjoying them this way ever since! To make the popsicles, all you need is the popsicle mold and popsicle sticks. I like these molds best, as they make 10 popsicles at a time and they pop out of the molds very easily.
